Objective: To analyze the indication of reoperation of thyroid cancer and explore the timing,proper surgical patern of reoperation.Methods: Protocols of 147 patients underwent reoperation of thyroid cancer from january 2002 to september 2009 were reviewed retrospectively. Combinated with domestic and foreign literature.Results: pathological results after reoperation confirmed that the rate of residual carcinoma is 65.6%(82/125) ,the rate of lymphnode is 62.9%(28/32). The rate of temporarily recurrent laryngeal nerve injury was0.68% ( 1/147 ) , the temporary hypocalcemia was 6.8%(10/147),without permanent laryngeal recurrent nerve hurt and hypocalcemia.Conclusions: Inadequate operation ,local recurrence and cervical lymph node metastsasis of thyroid cancer need revision suigery undoubtedly.The optimal treatment was total thyroidectomy with neck lymph node dissection.
