Investigation And Study Of Seniors' Health Service Of Three Gorges Reservoir In Chongqing

In order to get data of general state, life style, health status, basic visit state, economic status, community health service(CHS)utilization and CHS demand of seniors in Three Gorges Reservoir of Chongqing. Proposing advise to prevent and cure main chronic disease by analyzing relationship of main influencing factors and top 3 chronic diseases. Meanwhile, analyzing relationship of influencing factors and CHS demand for finding out important content of seniors'CHS, then provide a scientific way of developing seniors'CHS in reservoir in the future. This study adopts multistep sampling method to draw out 640 seniors who are more than 60 in 7 regions of 3 counties in Three Gorges Reservoir of Chongqing. We investigated these seniors in their homes. 619 questionnaires are effective at last, the effective rate is 96.72%.The result shows: Although a large part of seniors(45.1%) in reservoir visit community health agency because of convenience(55.6%), this rate is still quite low. Besides, seniors are not familiar with content of CHS so that they can not make good use of it. There are still many seniors who are not content with CHS because of high treatment fee, low technical level and poor equipments, etc. Top 3 chronic diseases of seniors in reservoir are: chronic orthopedics, hypertension and gastrosis. Influencing factors are: sex, age, income level, work status, culture level. Doctors'visit to their home is the largest demand of seniors in all CHS demand(s72.2%),setting home bed(60.1%) and consulting on telephone(59.6%) come to the next. The way of knowing community health agency is the factor which influences CHS demand most; the next is illness state of chronic diseases and the attitude towards health care in old people's home. On some level, income level, sex, age influence CHS demand also.Since seniors are not quite content with CHS and its utilization rate is still low, CHS agencies should cooperate with resource of community, making seniors understand CHS better and adopt some measures to increase seniors'content toward CHS. During the process of developing CHS, government should invest more; propagandas on chronic diseases need to be hold to prevent and cure chronic diseases and help should be offered to specific groups. Pay attention to publicize CHS to seniors and helping them have a good understanding toward community health care in order to increase CHS utilization rate. Enhance preventing, protecting, nursing and recovering function of CHS. Encourage old people's home carry out health care and drawing some attention to health care demand of poor groups of seniors.
