Systematic Review Traditional Chinese Mediecine Contrasts To Methotrexate Treatment On Rheumatoid Arthritis

Objective:To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of traditional Chinese medicine and traditional Chinese medicine combined with methotrexate(MTX) on rheumatoid arthritis (RA),which contrasts to MTX by the theory and method of Evidence-based medicine (EBM).Method:Retrieve the CBM, CNKI and MEDLINE databases,collect the Randomized Controlled Trials(RCT) and Quasi-Randomized Controlled Trials of traditional Chinese medicine and traditional Chinese medicine combined with MTX contrasts to MTX and apply systematic review method to systemically evaluate the literature which has been internalized.Result: 472 pertinent literature were retrieved,17 pieces accord with the internalized standard and bring into the systematic review. The seven pieces research on the therapy of RA used traditional Chinese medicine compared with MTX. 10 pieces study about the treatment on RA used traditional Chinese medicine combined with MTX compared with MTX. The qualitative analysis of document studys show that the 17 pieces above have deficience in study project and the design of clinical trial scheme, et al. Meta-analysis indicates that the therapy effect of traditional Chinese medicine and traditional Chinese medicine combined with MTX outweigh the MTX control group.The result of merging 3 data of these 7 and carring out Meta-analysis indicates that the effect of Zheng Qing Feng Tong Ning extended action tablet on decreasing the number of the arthrocele, moring stiffness time of RA patients and lowering rheumatoid factor(RF) is remarkdely excelling MTX ,but the effect has no significant difference in decreasing the number of joint tenderness and improving erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR) ,which contrasts to MTX; 10 data carring out Meta-analysis indicates that the method of traditional Chinese medicine combined with MTX on decreasing the number of the arthrocele, moring stiffness time ,increasing double hand-grip force and lowering rheumatoid factor(RF) and C-Reactive Protein(CRP) of RA patients is remarkdely excelling MTX ,but the effect has no significant difference in decreasing the number of joint tenderness and improving erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR) ,which contrasts to MTX. Conclusion: The qualitative analysis of document studys show that traditional Chinese medicine and traditional Chinese medicine combined with MTX have deficience in the methodology of the therapy on RA,which should be paid more attention.Meta-analysis results indicate that the therapy on RA with traditional chinese medicine and traditional Chinese medicine combined with MTX is valid,and the therapeutic effect outweigh MTX control group,thus,the treatment on RA with traditional Chinese medicine and traditional Chinese medicine combined with MTX has very good research prospect.
