Objective: Through using transcranial Doppler(TCD),observing on the immediate change of cervical vertigo patients'vertebral artery &basilar artery blood flow velocity after electro-acupunctured Fengchi, Tianzhu, Houxi, Hegu, Baihui. To explore the acupoint specificity to the change of vertebral artery &basilar artery blood flow velocity after electro-acupunctured cervical vertigo patients'acupoint. Providing the basis for the clinical reasonable acupoint selection, makes the clinical curative effect to further enhance.Method: 1 Subjects who meet the inclusion criteria were allocated randomly by a principal investigator (H.M.) to one of six groups——Control , Fengchi, Tianzhu, Baihui, Houxi, Hegu——by random number tab, 20 patients in each group. 2 At first subjects who were in Fengchi group, Tianzhu group, Baihui group, Houxi group, Hegu group carried out exercise stress test for cervical spine after they had entered the testing cabinet, and then proceeded to the first TCD detection. The second, subjects instantly carried out the second time TCD detection after electro-acupunctured 20 minutes. Subjects similarly carried on exercise stress test for cervical spine after they had entered the test cabinet,, then carried on the first TCD examination. But they didn't carry on the acupuncture. Only two electro-acupuncture apparatus electrodes were affixed to Fengchi with medical adhesive plaster and the power source of electro-acupuncture apparatus wasn't putted through. After 20 minutes subjects carried on the second TCD examination. 3 Observed the changes of left and right vertebral artery, basilar artery by peak systolic blood flow velocity (Vs), mean blood flow velocity (Vm), diastolic blood flow velocity (Vd).Result: 1 The changes of patients'peak systolic blood flow velocity (Vs) before and after treatment1.1 The changes of patients'vertebral artery peak systolic blood flow velocity before and after treatmentThe statistical analysis showed that the Vs of left and right vertebral artery in Fengchi group&Tianzhu groups before and after treatment were significant difference (all P<0.05).There were non-significant difference among Houxi group, Hegu group, Baihui group, control group before and after treatment(all P<0.05). The significant difference was found when we compared Fengchi group with Houxi group, Hegu group, Baihui group, control group (all P< 0.05). The significant difference was observed when we compared Tianzhu group with Houxi group, Hegu group, Baihui group, control group (all P<0.05). No statistical differences were observed between Fengchi group and Tianzhu group (P>0.05). There was no statistical difference among Houxi group, Hegu group, Baihui group, control group (all P> 0.05). These results suggest left and right vertebral arteries'Vs had significant increased after electro-acupunctured Fengchi &Tianzhu, but between-group differences were not achieved. After electro-acupuncture , left and right vertebral arteries'Vs hadn't significant increased in Houxi group, Hegu group, Baihui group, control group. Moreover, between-group differences were not observed. Electro-acupunctured Fengchi &Tianzhu had immediate effect to the increased of vertebral arteries'Vs. Electro-acupunctured Houxi, Hegu, Baihui had no immediate effect to the increased of vertebral arteries'Vs.1.2 The changes of patients' basilar artery peak systolic blood flow velocity before and after treatmentThe statistical analysis showed that the Vs of basilar artery in Fengchi group&Tianzhu groups before and after treatment were significant difference (all P<0.05).There were non-significant difference among Houxi group, Hegu group, Baihui group, control group before and after treatment (all P<0.05). The significant difference was found when we compared Fengchi group with Houxi group, Hegu group, Baihui group, control group (all P< 0.05). The significant difference was observed when we compared Tianzhu group with Houxi group, Hegu group, Baihui group, control group (all P<0.05). No statistical differences were observed between Fengchi group and Tianzhu group (P> 0.05). There was no statistical difference among Houxi group, Hegu group, Baihui group, control group (all P> 0.05). These results suggest basilar arteries'Vs had significant increased after electro-acupunctured Fengchi &Tianzhu, but between-group differences were not achieved. After electro-acupuncture, basilar arteries'Vs hadn't significant increased in Houxi group, Hegu group, Baihui group, control group. Moreover, between-group differences were not observed. Electro-acupunctured Fengchi &Tianzhu had immediate effect to the increased of basilar arteries'Vs. Electro-acupunctured Houxi, Hegu, Baihui had no immediate effect to the increased of basilar arteries'Vs.2 The change of patients'mean blood flow velocity (Vm) before and after treatment2.1 The change of patients'vertebral artery mean blood flow velocity before and after treatmentThe statistical analysis showed that the Vm of left and right vertebral artery in six groups before and after treatment were non-significant difference (all P>0.05). After the treatment, between-group differences of vertebral arteries'Vd weren't found (all P> 0.05). Analysis of these data suggests that left and right vertebral arteries'Vm hadn't significant changed in six groups after electro-acupuncture. Electro-acupunctured Fengchi,Tianzhu, Baihui, Houxi, Hegu had no immediate effect to the changed of vertebral arteries'Vm.2.2 The change of patients'basilar artery mean blood flow velocity before and after treatmentThe statistical analysis showed that the Vm of basilar artery in six groups before and after treatment were non-significant difference (all P>0.05). After the treatment, between-group differences of basilar arteries'Vm wasn't observed (P> 0.05).Analysis of these data suggests that basilar artery's Vm hadn't significant changed in six groups after electro-acupuncture. Electro-acupunctured Fengchi, Tianzhu, Baihui ,Houxi, Hegu had no immediate effect to the changed of basilar arteries'Vm.3 The change of patients'diastolic blood flow velocity (Vd) before and after treatment3.1 The change of patients'vertebral artery diastolic blood flow velocity (Vd) before and after treatmentThe statistical analysis showed that the Vd of left and right vertebral artery in six groups before and after treatment were non-significant difference (all P>0.05). After the treatment, between-group differences of vertebral arteries'Vd weren't found (all P> 0.05). Analysis of these data suggests left and right vertebral arteries'Vd hadn't significant changed in six groups after electro-acupuncture. Electro-acupunctured Fengchi, Tianzhu, Baihui, Houxi, Hegu had no the immediate effect to the changed of vertebral arteries'Vd. 3.2 The change of patients'basilar artery diastolic blood flow velocity (Vd) before and after treatmentThe statistical analysis showed that the Vd of basilar artery in six groups before and after treatment were non-significant difference (all P>0.05). After the treatment, between-group differences of basilar arteries'Vd wasn't observed (P> 0.05). Analysis of these data suggests basilar arteries'Vd hadn't significant changed in six groups after electro-acupuncture. Electro-acupunctured Fengchi, Tianzhu, Baihui, Houxi, Hegu had no the immediate effect to the changeed of basilar arteries'Vd.Conclusion:1 Electro-acupunctured Fengchi &Tianzhu had immediate effect to the increased of vertebral artery and basilar arteries'Vs.2 Electro-acupunctured Houxi, Hegu, Baihui had no immediate effect to the increased of vertebral artery and basilar arteries'Vs.3 Electro-acupunctured Fengchi, Tianzhu, Baihui, Houxi, Hegu had on immediate effect to the changed of vertebral artery and basilar arteries'Vm . 4 Electro-acupunctured Fengchi, Tianzhu, Baihui, Houxi, Hegu had on immediate effect to the changed of vertebral artery and basilar arteries'Vd.5 Electro-acupunctured Fengchi&Tianzhu had the relative acupoint specificity to the increased of vertebral artery& basilar artery blood flow velocity. It had provided the basis for the clinical reasonable acupoint selection.
