Impact Of Electromagnetic Radiation On Adverse Pregnancy Outcomes

ObjectiveTo investigate the association between electromagnetic radiation and adverse pregnancy outcomes,identify the risk factors of adverse pregnancy outcomes,and provide theoretical foundation for the prevention of adverse pregnancy outcomes of beijing and scientific basis for the work of prenatal and postnatal care. MethodsA hospital based on case-control study was conducted in Beijing.Cases (n=120) were pregnancy women recruited at the Peking Union Medical College Hospital who were diagnosed with spontaneous no more than 12 weeks.Controls(n=364) were selected by the pregnant women diagnosed with normal pregnancy of 12 weeks.The standardized questionnaire was collected to understand the factors and adverse pregnancy-related exposure.The factors include the situation in general of pregnant women and pre-pregnancy, genetic conditions, general reproductive history, pregnancy in this case,electromagnetic radiation exposure, etc.The data will be performed by single factor analysis and multivariate logistic regression analysis after selecting factors associated statistically.Measure families'environmental electromagnetic radiation after taking a representative sample.Then, one factor analysis and multiple logistic regression analysis will be performed to explore the relationship between electromagnetic radiation and adverse pregnancy outcomes. Results1,Pregnancy women who contacts ELF of TV>10.000μT have a higher risk of spontaneous abortion (OR=1.0,,95%CI=1.023～1.035).2,Pregnancy women who contacts computer have a higher risk of spontaneous abortion(OR=1.0,,95%CI=1.047～3.404).3,The study found the risk of spontaneous abortion for pregnant women who using the mobile phones> 20 min/d is higher(OR=1.9,,95%CI=1.160～3.210).4,In the two groups,there is no correlation between microwave ovens and spontaneous abortion in his study.5,The study showed that the risk of spontaneous abortion using the induction cooker frequently during pregnancy is higher (OR=2.0,95%CI=1.100～3.931).6,In the one factor analysis, there is no statistically significant (χ2=0.028,P>0.05) between the case group and control group.there is no evidence that regular use of hair dryer is a factor of spontaneous abortion.7,There is no correlation between wireless network and spontaneous abortion in his study.8,There is no correlation between environmental electromagnetic radiation and spontaneous abortion in his study.9,In addition to cordless phone,the ratio of reducing the time of using television, computers, microwave ovens,electric stove, phone, hair dryer and other appliances in case group were higher than that ratio in control, and the difference has statistically significance.10,With environmental factors,the mental state during pregnancy is a risk factor for spontaneous abortion.Pregnancy women with general mental state have a higher risk of spontaneous abortion (OR=2.2,95%CI=1.539～3.252).ConclusionsThere may increase the risk of spontaneous abortion while using the TV,mobile phones,electric stove and other appliances in the course of pregnant women.The time of using appliances is also an important factor of spontaneous abortion.In the future natural prevention of abortion, we should strengthen the publicity of electromagnetic radiation hazards to make pregnant women aware of the dangers of electromagnetic radiation, enhancing the sense of self-care during pregnancy to avoid electromagnetic radiation pollution from some electrical appliances,reducing the incidence of spontaneous abortion.
