Sub-health state is a low-quality health state that people's mind and body is between disease and health. A global survey of World Health Organization (WHO) showed that 75% people was in sub-health state. Long period in sub-health state will lead to people's central nervous system in anxiety and autonomic dysfunction.Fastigial nucleus stimulation (FNS) is found as a new way to treat diseases in recent twenty years. Research showed that FNS could improve cardiac autonomic dysfunction of stroke patients. The analysis of heart rate variability (HRV) is an important tool for non-invasively detecting the cardiovascular modulation of autonomic nervous system. HRV refers to the tiny fluctuations of instantaneous heart rate between consecutive beats or the minor differences of the successive cardiac cycles. It contains a lot of information concerning the cardiovascular regulation, while extracting and analyzing of the information of HRV can offer a quantitative evaluation of the tenseness and the balance of the sympathetic and the vagus nerve activities and their effect on cardiovascular motion.A preliminary research of effects of fastigial nucleus stimulation on heart rate variability in sub-health people was done in this paper. In order to establish the experimental platform, an HRV analysis system was designed using VB and Matlab mixed program. The system included two function models, one was electrocardiogram (ECG) collecting system based on PM-9000 ECG monitoring model, and anther was short-term (5 minute) frequency domain parameters of HRV. After removing the ECG baseline drifts and ECG noises, continuous wavelet transform (CWT) was used to detect R- peaks and then transformed them to obtain the HRV signal. Then preprocessing HRV, it included removing the bad points, resample and removing direct current. Auto-regressive (AR) model was used to estimate the power spectral density (PSD) of HRV, and Burg algorithm was used to choose AR model parameters. Then the frequency domain parameters of HRV were calculated by integrating. As the parameters used in clinical testing, HRV must have good repeatability. Pearson correlation coefficient and intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) were used to study the short-term and long-term repeatability of the short-term frequency domain parameters of HRV with 20 healthy volunteers. The result showed that the short-term frequency domain parameters of HRV had good short-term and long-term repeatability, and the short-term repeatability was better than the long-term repeatability, which provides a basis for further research. At last, a preliminary experiment of effects of FNS on HRV in sub-health people was done. FNS was used in 6 sub-health people. The frequency domain parameters of HRV before FNS and after FNS were contrasted. The result showed that FNS could improve HRV of some sub-health people, which provides a basis for further research.
