ObjectiveTo analyze the differential expressions of Aquaporin-1 (AQP-1)and Aquaporin-3(AQP-3) in colorectal carcinoma(CRC),colorectal adenoma (CRA) and normal colorectal tissue(CRT),and their significance,as well as the correlation between the expression of the two Aquaporins。MethodesThe expression of AQP-1 and AQP-3 was investigated in 50 CRT, 25 CRA,50 CRC by SP(Streptavidin Perdcidase) immunohistochemical staining. The differences of the positive rates are analyzed by chi-square criterion. The correlation between two Aquaporins in CRC is analyzed by Spearman correlation analysis.Results1.The positive rates of AQP-1 were 38%,32% and 64% in CRT, CRA and CRC,respectively. The positive rates of AQP-1 in different groups were significantly different(χ2=9.678,p<0.05).A further analysis of expressions between every two group by chi-square criterion revealed that there were significant differences between the expression in CRC and CRT(χ2=6.763,p=0.008),as well as between CRC and CRA (χ2=6.857, p=0.009),respectively. Meanwhile, the expression was correlated with invasive depth and lymph node metastasis (p<0.05),but was not correlated with age, sex, tumor location, diameter and differentiation (p> 0.05).2.The positive expression rates of AQP-3 were 56%,44%,52% in CRT, CRA,CRC,respectively. Chi-square criterion show no significant difference (χ2=0.962,p>0.05).The expression was correlated with age, tumor diameter, and invasive depth (p<0.05),but was not correlated with sex, location, lymph node metastasis and differentiation (p>0.05).3.No significant correlation between the expression of AQP-1 and AQP-3 in CRC was shown by Spearman correlation analysis(r=0.113,p =0.433).Conclucions1.AQP-1 and AQP-3 both expresses in CRT, CRA, CRC, and AQP-1 is involved in the development of CRC.2.The abnormal expression of AQP-1 is significantly associated with invasive depth and lymph node metastasis, while the expression of AQP-3 is associated with age of patient, diameter and invasive depth of the tumor.3.There is no correlation between the expression of AQP-1 and AQP-3 in CRC. |
