To Evaluate The Application Of UF-50 Automated Urinalysis Analyzer In Screening Urinary Tract Infection With ROC Curve

Objective To study the clinical significance of screening urinary tract infection by Sysmex UF-50 automated urinalysis analyzer. To investigate the reference ranges of urinary formed elements by Sysmex UF-50 automated urinalysis analyzer in Jincheng.Methods A screening study for urinary tract infection in General Hospital of Jincheng Anthracite Mining Group Co.Ltd in 2007,where 93 people had been tested for clinical diagnose criteria as gold standard..Receiver operating characteristics(ROC) curves were drawn to evaluate the reliability of UF-50 automated urinalysis analyzer in ell diagnosing urinary tract infection by counting the bacteria(BACT) and white blood cel(WBC)1 and red blood cell(RBC) and epithelial cell(EC) in urine. Urine samples from 877healthy people in Jincheng were measured in uncontrifuged samples by UF-50 fully automation urinalysis analyzer.Results The areas under ROC curve of BACT and WBC and RBC and EC count for differentiating urinary tract infection were 0.88,0.96,0.80,0.91 and cutoff value were 747.10/μl,28.83/μl,4.40/μl,17.10/μl. The range of RBC was 0～9.6/μl(men),0～11.9/μl(women); The range of WBC was 0～8.0/μl(men),0～17.9/μl(women); The range of EC was 0～6.8/μl(men),0～17/μl(women); The ranges of Cast was 0～0.7/μl(men),0～0.6/μl(women); The range of Bact was 0～805.0/μl(men),0～1242.9/μl(women).Conclusion Using UF-50 to count the BACT and WBC and RBC of the midstream urine is rapid, effective method in diagnosing urinary tract infection. provides basis for establishing the reference ranges of urinary formed elements of Jincheng and for standard use clinical diagnosis and treatment.we can use the virtue of the negative predictive value to screening the negative specimen so that we can reduce the inefficiency work. But we should caution the false negative specimen and it could not replace the quantitative bacteria culture.lt provides basis for establishing the reference ranges of urinary formed elements of Jincheng and for standard use clinical diagnosis and treatment.
