| Objective: To explore the expressions of Ghrelin and Obestatin in the gastric carcinoma, and the correlations among these indexs and pathology, and validate their clinical significance in generation and progression of the gastric carcinoma. Clinical significance and correlation between ghrelin and obestatin expressions in the gastric carcinoma were investigated. Methods: 58 gastric carcinomas and 40 normal gastric mucosal samples were examined for the expressions of Ghrelin and Obestatin using immunohistoche- mistry, the correlation between these two parameters and clinic significance were analyzed. Results The expression positive rates of Ghrelin protein in matched group tissues and gastric carcinoma were 60.00% and 29.31% respectively (p<0.01) , for Obestatin protein were 30.00% and 53.45% respectively(p<0.05). The expressions of Obestatin and Ghrelin were not significantly related with sex of patients ,while related with tumor infiltration depth and TNM staging(P<0.05). The expression of Ghrelin was negatively correlated with that of Obestatin(r=-0.357,p=0.006).Conclusion The low expression of Ghrelin and the high expression of Obestatin in gastric cancer tissues participate the occurrence and development of gastric cancer. Detection of both Ghrelin and Obestatin expressions may be useful for prediction of stomach invaded and lymph node metastasis of gastric carcinoma. |
