OBJECTIVE: To compare the efficacy and safety of dual lumen catheter ultrasonic lithotripsy and pneumatic lithotripsy for kidney staghorn stone underwent percutaneous nephrolithotomy.METHODS: From Jun 2009 to Jan 2010, 55 kidney staghorn stone patients were treated by mini-percutaneous nephrolithotomy(MPCNL), dual lumen catheter ultrasonic lithotripsy was used in 25 cases and 30 cases were procedured by pneumatic lithotripsy,Prospectively analyze procedure time, hemorrhage volume,one-staged stone clearance rate, postoperative complications, length of hospital stay and cost of hospitalization as the results of two groups.RESULTS: The 20F percutaneous renal access was successfully established in 55 patients under in one-staged PCNL . Significant differences are not observed in comparing two groups in operative tim(e81.8±21.89min vsunderwent88.13±29.53min P>0.05), one-staged stone clearance rate (68% vs 60% P>0.05),hospitalization time (16.6±8.7days vs 14.1±4.1days , P > 0.05), cost of hospitalization(16533.18±3921.18 CNY vs 14859.1±2880.12 CNY,P>0.05) postoperative complications rate ( 16% vs 10% P > 0.05), except hemorrhage volume (83.83±28.1mL vs 110.3±27.03mL P<0.05).CONCLUSION: Although the two groups have the same clinical effect, Dual lumen catheter ultrasonic lithotripsy has less hemorrhage volume and is safer than pneumatic lithotripsy ,it is an efficiency and safety way in treatment kidney staghorn stone。... |
