Clinical Study On The Curative Effect Of XiaoZheng Decoction In Treating Endometriosis

Objective: To observe the curative effect of XiaoZheng Decoction (ZHD) in treating endometriosis and to explore its mechanism. Methods: 60 patients suffering from endometriosis with the characteristic of intermingled phlegm and blood stasis were divided into the treatment group (30 cases, treated with XZD) and the control group (30 cases, treated with SanJieZhenTong Capsule) at random. Before and after treatment, the clinical symptoms and the improvement in physical signs were observed; Changes of such indexes as blood rheology (High-shear Whole Blood Viscosity, Low-shear Whole Blood Viscosity, Plasma Adherence, Hematokrit, Blood Sedimentation, Aggregative Index of RBC, Fibrinogen), antiendometrial antibody (EmAb), CA₁₂₅ were measured. Results: The general effective rate of XiaoZheng Decoction in treating endometriosis was 93.33 percent, and the apparent effective rate was 73.33 percent. Clinical symptoms and signs were improved obviously, which was much better than the control group. Test results in laboratory showed that before treatment the hemorheology was abnormal for the patients suffering from endometriosis, and the level of CA₁₂₅ and the positive rate of EmAb rose obviously; after treatment the hemorheology was apparently improved, and the level of CA₁₂₅ and the positive rate of EmAb were greatly reduced, which testified the curative effect of XiaoZheng Decoction. Conclusion: XiaoZheng Decoction has great curative effects on endometriosis with the characteristic of intermingled phlegm and blood stasis. The improvement of hemorheology and the adjustment of the immunological function are part of its mechanism of action.
