ObjectiveTo investigate the function of bacteria in acute/chonic rhinosinusitis (ARS/CRS)by quantitative-bacterial culture and detection of acute/chonic rhinosinusitis. And to explore the value of nasal lavage in research of rhinosinusitis. Materials and MethodsThe ARS group consisted of 5 men and 5 women.Whose mean age was 33.9 years and the duration of symptoms was 7days. The CRSsNP group consisted of 19 men and 10 women. Whose mean age was 26.4 years and the mean course of disease was 5.3 years. The CRSwNP group consisted of 13 men and 7 women. Whose mean age was 42.7 years and the mean course of disease was 7.9 years. The CONTROL group consisted of 13 men and 2 women. Whose mean age was 31.3 years. The introduction of fluid into the double nasal cavity and its recovery after a predetermined dwell time has been used. This process is termed nasal lavage. We collected the lavage with a sterile container and took 1ml of it by a sterile injection syringe to laboratory for quantitative-bacterial culture ,fungus culture and antibiotic sensitivity test. Each object has been examined by endoscope test and done Lund-kennedy score. The epithelial cells were scraped from the lateral side of middle meatus by a sterile mucosal cutette. We put the cells in a 1.5ml tube with 1ml PBS for virus detection.ResultsThe totle bacterial isolates numeber is 15 and in which Gram-positive bacterial isolates are 4 species, Gram-negative bacteria is 11 species. There are 2 kinds of fungus. We didn't find anaerobic bacteria in all sample. The positive rate of bacteria culture in CONTROL group is 86.67%. The ARS group is 80.00%. The CRSsNP group is 81.48% and the CRSwNP is 87.50%. There is no statistical significance between each group.(P>0.05).The bacterial isolates cultured from the ARS group were 9 species. The CRSsNP group were 12 species. The CRSwNP were 13 species and the CONTROL group were 6 species. The 6 bacterial isolates in CONTROL group were all exist in other 3 groups. The rate of Streptococcus viridans and coagulase negative staphylococcus (CN-S) was not significantly higher Compared with CONTROL group.(≥10000CFU/ml presumed positive sample ,P>0.05)Conclusion1. Compared with CONTROL group, the bacterial isolates shared in the four group were not significantly higher by reseaching the quantitative-bacterial culture results(P>0.05)2. Two of all the bacterial isolates wereβ-lactamase positive, which was lower than document reported. Nasal conditioned pathogens of Ampicillin resistance were very frequent. Antibiotic resistance of some enteric bacilli were serious,up to 10 kinds of antibiotic resistance.3. Bacterial cultrue from nasal lavage was not conducive to detect anaerobic bacteria. All samples were not detected department anaerobes. The proportion of aerobic bacteria detected close to the results reported in the literature at home and abroad. |
