The Research Of The Correlation Between TCM Syndromes And Risk Factors In Acute Ischemic Stroke

BackgroundCerebral vascular disease has now become the first causes of disability and death in urban and rural area in China, and morbidity are increasing year by year trend. Acute ischemic stroke accounts for 60%-80% of stroke which harm seriously to human health and quality of life. After a number of clinical and epidemiological studies, major risk factors for stroke have a relatively clear understanding in present. Fully understand the risk factors for stroke, active control of the risk factors, to reduce the incidence of cerebral vascular disease or recurrence has great significance. Ischemic stroke of modern dialectical norms of traditional Chinese medicine made some progress, including the six syndromes, nine syndrome. As a simplified dialectics, the dialectic of Yin and Yang syndrome has its clinical significance. Different risk factors have an impact on the body, which are also reacting on syndrome. Different risk factors also directly impact on the occurrence and development of stroke. Some domestic research also shows that different risk factors which are responsible in the pathogenesis of stroke and the syndrome have a certain relevance. In this paper, as the basis of the fifteen national research project on "Differentiation of acute ischemic stroke model specification and evaluation of efficacy"(the mission statement No:2004BA721A02) led by my instructor Professor Huang Yan in Guangdong Provincial Hospital of TCM, to study the correlation between TCM syndromes and risk factors in acute ischemic stroke.ObjectivesTo understand the distribution features of risk factors and TCM syndromes of the acute ischemic stroke patients. To preliminarily study the risk factors of the patients with acute ischemic stroke related to TCM.MethodsUsing retrospective cross-sectional survey research methods, incorporate in March 2005 to October 2006 a total of 22 clinical units in neurology, emergency, acupuncture and other outpatient and inpatient departments of the patients diagnosed with acute ischemic stroke total of 1841 cases, collect the clinical data of patients, risk factors and stroke syndromes performance, authenticate the patients according to diagnostic criteria of yin and yang type syndrome decision tree. database, Using SPSS 17.0 software, use the Frequency distribution of the number of analysis, the x2 test, Binary Logistic regression analysis to statistics and analysis, find out syndrome and risk factors distribution of the patients with acute ischemic stroke, also obtain the related risk factors which affect the dialectic of Yin and Yang syndrome.Result1. Distribution of syndrome characteristic of TCM:According to the Frequency distribution of the number of analysis, Yang syndrome is 41.1%, while Yin syndrome have a larger proportion,58.9%.Yin deficiency syndrome in all cases the number of classes have the largest proportion,38.1% and the remaining three cards are each about 20%.2. Variability test between Yang syndrome group and Yin syndrome group:By the x2 test, between the Yang syndrome group and Yin syndrome group, there are differences among sex, irritable personality, eat feigan, smoking, drinking, history of diabetes, previous history of stroke, history of hypertension, which are statistically significant and possibility related with Yang syndrome. The difference of the rest factor relatively have no covariance meaning.3. Related risk factors which affect the dialectic of Yang syndrome:Binary Logistic regression analysis statistical analysis:Men, irritable personality and history of hypertension are factors conducive to the dialectic of Yang syndrome.ConclusionDistribution characteristics of TCM:Yin syndrome have a larger proportion than Yang syndrome, Yin deficiency syndrome in all cases the number of classes have the largest proportion. Sex, irritable personality and history of hypertension are related risk factors which affect the dialectic of Yang syndrome. Men, irritable personality and history of hypertension are factors conducive to the dialectic of Yang syndrome.
