Objective:A retrospective research, to investigate the effect on distribution of bone cement in vertebral body during The Percutaneous Vertebral Augmentation.Method This prospective research included 45 patients (each one is an isolated vertebral body), whom were diagnosed OVCF and taken Percutaneous vertebral augmentation in our section from the October 2009 to November 2010. Setting the grouping method,45 patients were divided into three groups (A group:bone cement disperses badly in the fracture line, B group:bone cement disperses in fracture line, but doesn't get through the upper and lower endplate, C bone cement disperses in fracture line and gets through the upper and lower end plate.), To measure the value of the comparison between preoperative and postoperative in each group by the VAS and ODI. Followed up for 2 days,3 months, 5 months after surgery respectively. Results:Of the selected 45 patients,14 males,31 females, There were significant statistic difference among the various moments before and after surgery (P<0.01) in all patients'VAS, including the moment of 2 days,3 months and 5 months after the surgery respectively. In a word, effect on improvement of pain is significant after surgery. There was statistic difference (P<0.05) between C group and A group, B group in VAS 2 days after surgery. And there was no statistic difference (P>0.05) between group A and group B, in VAS 2 days after surgery. Also There was no statistic difference (P<0.05) among 3 groups in VAS 2 days after surgery and 5 months after surgery respectively. Besides there were significant statistic difference among the various moments before and after surgery (P<0.01) in all patients'ODI, including the moment of 2 days,3 months and 5 months after the surgery respectively, and there was significant difference of the improvement in dysfunction. There was statistic difference (P<0.05) between between C group and A group, B group in ODI 2 days after surgery. And there was no statistic difference (P>0.05) between group A and group B in ODI 2 days after surgery. Also there was no statistic difference (P>0.05) among 3 groups in ODI 2 days after surgery 5 months after surgery respectively. in a word, C efficacy of immediate postoperative patients compared with A, B groups were significantly,After 3 months follow-up three groups of patients with little difference in efficacy. Conclusion:The patients who suffered from OVCF, after taking Percutaneous Vertebral Augmentation, have significant effect on pain and quality of life. C efficacy of immediate postoperative patients compared with A, B groups were significantly, After 3 months follow-up three groups of patients with little difference in efficacy. As a result, when taking Percutaneous Vertebral Augmentation, surgeons don't need to have an intention to adjust the angle sedulously to achieve that cement in the vertebral body disperse widely.
