Chronic fatigue syndrome is short for CFS, which is a symptom complex of serious and durative fatigue as the main performance. Physical examination and laboratory examination can not find the abnormity. With the development of society, the incidence of CFS is increasing. The pathogen and pathogenesis of CFS is not clear in modern medicine now. There is lack of effective therapy. At present, people has noticed the great curative effect of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Especially the method of acupuncture, it is safety, effective and less side effect, and regarded as the first choice. Objecti veTo observe the clinical effect of CFS acupunctured by heat-reinforcing and cold-reducing, and search the better treatment of CFS which is individual and effective. MethodsThe 60 CFS patients who complied with the research standards were divided into 2 groups in random. Acupuncture therapy of heat-reinforcing and cold-reducing was used in the treatment group (30 cases),while common acupuncture was given to the control group (30 cases). The therapeutic effect was observed after 2 course of treatment. SF-36 and FAI were used to measure the degree of general health and fatigue before and after treatment.First, the total effective rate had no significant differences (P>0.05), as the rate of excellence had significant differences (P<0.05).It indicated that acupuncture can improve the symptoms of CFS, and the curative effect of treatment group was superior to the control group.Second, the scores of SF-36 in every dimension were elevated after acupuncture (P<0.05), while the comparison of the scores after treatment, both in the treatment group and control group, had significant differences (P<0.05), especially in the dimensions of body ache activity (P<0.01).It revealed acupuncture can improve the symptoms of CFS again, and the acupuncture therapy of heat-reinforcing and cold-reducing could ameliorate the symptoms of CFS better.Third, the scores of FAI were both declined after treatment in two groups (P<0.05), and the scores of FAI after treatment in treatment group had significant differences compared to before (P<0.05).It showed acupuncture could alleviate the fatigue symptom of CFS effectively, and the curative effect of treatment group which used the acupuncture therapy of heat-reinforcing and cold-reducing was better than the control group. ConelusionAcupuncture could improve the symptoms of CFS effectively, and the curative effect of the treatment group, which used acupuncture therapy of heat-reinforcing and cold-reducing alleviated, was superior to the control group.
