| Objective:Use modified acute physiology and chronic health evaluationⅡI (APACHEⅡ)to assess the degree of illness and the prognosis of the acute paraquat poisoning patients.Methods:94 patients with acute paraquat poisoning in the department of emergency were enrolled. After modified acute physiology and chronic health evaluationⅡwas established, modified APACHE II score was calculated, the prognostic value of this system was assessed, then analysis the relationship between mortality and modified APACHEⅡ, and establish the regression model. Results:Modified APACHEⅡscore ranged from 2 to 34. average 13.4±6.9. Modified APACHEⅡscore was 6.0±2.2 in the survivors.9.9±2.5 in the dead after 96 hours and 20.8±5.2 in the dead in 96 hours. The scores were significantly different between the three groups (P<0.05). There was a significant correlation between modified APACHE II score and mortality. Conclusion:Modified APACHEⅡscore system can be used to early predict the prognosis of acute paraquat poisoning. |
