Objective:To analyze the rike factors of frequent exacerbations for pediatric asthma.and provide a clinical profile of better controll of the frequent asthma exacerbations.Methods:Seventy-three cases of pediatric asthmatics with frequent excabations aged 5 years and older in Chongqing Children's hospital from January 2009 to August 2010 were retrospectively analyzed .Results:Among patients with frequent asthma exacerbations,63 cases(86.3%) with poor adherence and the count for respiaratory infection was 4.51±2.48 times at average in the previous year. The main etiological agents detected in this group were MP and CP with positive rate 16.9% and 27.3% respectively. Viruse was rare with the positive rate 7.5% only.During the follow-up period, patients with good adherence had better symptom controll , less chance for readmission and lower upper repiratory frequency(P<0.05).For the patients comorbided with allergic rhinitis, taken treatment for both upper and lower respiratory track was more effective than focusing on their asthma only(P<0.05).Conclusion : The results show that poor adherence , frequent respiaratory infection may be the main risk factors associated with frequent exacerbations . Meanwhile,MP and CP may be main pathogen for pediatric frequent asthma exacerbations .Therapeutic interventions aimed at correcting these factors are likely to reduce morbidity and medical expenditure in these patients.
