Endophytes commonly present in plants with many kinds and wide distribution which are a group of microorganisms living within plant internal tissues or organs. Plant endophytes contain a lot of chemical constituents, such as terpenoids, alkaloids, esters, flavonoids, quinonoids classes anthracene derivatives and steroidal, etc, which can play a role as antimicrobial, anticancer or antitumour. Plant endophytes can also produce some substances for the treatment of some human diseases. So it is a remarkably important research field to get some novel structure, active single-minded substance by the research of endophytes. In this paper,we investigated the secondary metabolites from two endophytes strains of Yunnan woody plant Penicillium sp. DCS523 and Beauveria. Lr89. Two endophytic fungal strains Penicillium sp. DCS523 and Phomopsis sp DCOlwere isolated from the surface-sterilized branch of Daphniphyllum longeracemosum Rosenth, which is an evergreen tree mainly distributed in Yunnan Province, China. DCS523 was determined to be a Penicillium sp.according to the ITS sequence analysis. DC01 was determined to be a Phomopsis sp.according to the ITS sequence analysis.The extracts from the PDA solid fermentation media of Penicillium sp. DCS523 were purified to give two new chroman derivatives as well as six known compounds. Based on their spectral data the new compounds were identified as (Z)-6-acetyl-3-(1,2-dihydroxypropylidene)-5-hydroxy-8-methylchro man-2-one(1) and 6-acetyl-2a,5-dihydroxy-2-(2-hydroxypropyl)-3a,8-dimethylchroman(2), respectively. The other six known compounds were 5,5'-Diacetyl-2,6,2,6'-tetrahydroxy-3,3'-dimethyl-diphenylmethane(3),2,5-Dihydroxy-4-methylacetophenone(4), Z-3-methylpent-2-en-1,5-dioicacid(5),5a,6a-epoxy-24(R)-methyl cholesta-7,22-dien-3β-ol(6), 5a,8a-epidioxyergosta-6,22-dien-30-ol(7) and 3β-O-D-glucosyl-stigmasta-5,24(28)-diene(8). The extracts from the PDA solid fermentation media of Phomopsis sp DC01were purified to give three compounds including one new phenol compound. The new compound was identified to be (E)-7-(2-hydroxy-4-(hydroxymethyl)phenyl)-2-methyloct-6-enoic acid(9) based on the spectral data.The other two known compounds were ergosterol(10)and 1,6-dihydro-l-methy1-6-oxo-3-pyridinecarboxylic acid(11). The third strain is Beauveria sp. Lr89 separated from the leaf of Maytenus hookeri Loes. and determined to be a Beauveria according to the ITS sequence analysis. The extracts from the agar solid plate fermentation media of Beauveria sp. Lr89 were purified to give two cyclopeptides. They were determined to be IsariDin A(12)and Isariin B(13)on the basis of spectroscopic analysis.
