ObjectiveTo observe the effect of treating Wind and Sputum evil invading lung-postinfectious cough with E Li Soup and western medicine treatment, compari son of the two effects, with the effects of inflammatory cells in sputum to explore its mechanism.Methods60 patients were divided into two groups at random.30 patients in observation group were treated with E Li Soup and Compound Methoxyphenamine Capsules.30 patients in control group were treated with Compound Methoxyphenamine Capsules. Both the treatment time were 10 days To observe and compare the effects. The inflammatory cells in sputum of 10 patients were measured before and after the treatment in observation group.ResultsFirstly, the result showed, Chinese medicine is better than the western medicine in curative effect. Secondly, the level of Leukocyte and Neutrophils in sputum reduced after treatment, it showed that the mechanisms of postinfectious cough is ralated with chronic inflammation of respiratory tract, so the curative effect of the Chinese medicine may due to inflammation of respiratory tract. Thirdly, the level of Eosinophils in sputum reduced after treatment, it showed that the mechanisms of postinfectious cough may be ralated with airway hyperresponsiveness, so the curative effect of the Chinese medicine may due to decrease the responsiveness of respiratory tract .Fourthly, the level of Macrophages in sputum rose after the treatment, it showed that the curative effect of the Chinese medicine may due to accelerate repair airway injury.ConclusionE Li Soup is an effective medicament of treating postinfectious cough, which can moderate the clinical symptoms, promote the patients recovery, defer the progress of disease and reduce the pulmonary damages.
