| Background:Knee osteoarthritis is a kind of disease for cartilage denaturation and bone's loss or the joint edges, subchondral bone's hyperplasia. Knee osteoarthritis is most common in the elderly population, which happens in both sexes. As the population life raising in the 20th century, the incidence of osteoarthritis was significantly higher than before, especially in the elderly population. People over the age of 60,50people have bones arthritis in the X-ray film, of which 35%-50%have clinical manifestations. Pain is the most important features, which can bring a heavy burden on the patient.Huandi Neijing had written:"Various fascia are belongs to joints".That means 12-Jingjins are together around the joints. The Knees are wrapped by Foot Yangming type-Jingjin Meridian, Foot Taiyang tyepe-Meridian, Foot Taiyings type-Meridian. Thus, Knee osteoarthritis have close connection on Meridian's pathological changes. For Professor Han's years of study, combined with existing clinical and scientific researches,we propose "JinBi" is the essential development stage for Knee osteoarthritis, and "GuBi" is Extension of the "JinBi" development process, and Foot Yangming type-Jingjin Meridian Knee osteoarthritis is the most common type in 12 Jingjins. As one of the treatment of knee osteoarthritis, the electrical Acupuncture (EA) have easy operation and obvious analgesic effect. However, clinical use of the Jingjin Meridians theory as a guide for treatment of knee osteoarthritis in the study was lack of records. The specific effect is also not clear. Base on the Jingjin Meridians clinical syndrome differentiation system of the research group. This research select the cases from the Guangzhou University of TCM orthopedies Hospital. Then, randomly divided them into treatment group(using Jingjin Meridians EA therapy group) and control group (using conventional EA therapy group)and evaluate the curative effect in order to verify the clinical feasibility of the Jingjin-type EA treatment. Eventually, supply and improve the application of the Jingjin Meridians clinical syndrome differentiation system as external treatment in Chinese medicine. Objective: Through the Jingjin—type EA therapy treat on Foot Yangming type-Jingjin Meridian knee osteoarthritis, and the collection rates before and after treatment to assess efficacy. Methods:All patients from November 2010 to 2011 March were treated in Guangzhou University of TCM orthopedies hospital, who correspond the diagnostic criteria (2007 version of "osteoarthritis treatment guidelines ").The 65 cases were randomly divided into treatment group and control group, of which qualified as the treatment of 33 patients and the control group 32 patients, and fall off Case 5, because of incompatibility. Using the WOMAC score table statistics score evaluate the treatment efficacy before treatment and after 2 weeks. Finally SPSS17.0 statistical data.Results:1. After 2 weeks of treatment, two groups of WOMAC scores were significantly lower than before treatment and they were significantly different(P<0.01).2. There was a difference between two groups in efficacy. (P<0.05). Efficiency and the effective rate of the two groups showed no significant difference (P >0.05)3. The treatment group improvement in pain and symptoms than the control group, were significantly different(P<0.05).Conclusion:1. Jingjin-type EA therapy and conventional EA therapy on Foot Yangming type knee osteoarthritis are effective.2. Jingjin-type EA therapy on Foot Yangming type knee osteoarthritis is more effective than conventional EA therapy on Foot Yangming type knee osteoarthritis. |
