Objectives:To assess the value of contrast-enhanced ultrasound(CEUS)in the characterization of focal liver lesions(≤3.0cm),establishing treatment scheme before RFA and observe the curative effect.Method:Our hospital 40 cases of patients with 62 focal liver lesions were taken to color Doppler flow imaging(CDFI), contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS)and contrast-enhanced CT(CECT).The diagnostic performance of CEUS and CDFI was compared with pathologic findings through biopsy .And,16 cases were treated by operation,24 cases by radiofrequency Ablation. Contrast enhanced Ultrasonography was applied after 1 month in order to obsere the curative effect. Results:All of the focal liver lesions were deteched by CDFI and CEUS. The sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive value, accuracy of CEUS for diagnosing liver lesions was 98.3%,100%,100%,80% and 98.4%, respectively, higher than those of CDFI(p<0.05).The flow classification of focal liver lesions were detected by CEUS, which was much higher than CDFI(p<0.005),it is helpful in definiting the characterization of focal liver lesions. The diameter of liver lesions, the gray scale ultrasound displayed smaller resultst than CEUS did(t=-16.513,p=0.000); the gray scale ultrasound displayed smaller results than CECT did(t=-16.841,p=0.000); The diameter of liver lesions were detected by CEUS, which was similar to CECT(t=-1.534,p=0.130); The diameter of 32liver lesions by operation , which was much larger than the gray scale ultrasound did(t=2.830,p=0.008);which was similar to CEUS(t=-0.822,p=0.417);which was similar to CECT(t=-0.802,p=0.428)。Early arterial enhancement was observed in one dysplastic nodule of liver cirrhosis one month after radiofrequency Ablation and in 2 cases one month after operation.Conclusions:Contrast-enhanced ultrasound in definiting the characterization, range of focal liver lesions is of high clinical significance and value.CEUS has actual clinical value in observing the curative effect.
