Objective:It is a study on observing Siwutang's formula mechanism and compatibility principle and provide experimental evidences for revealing Siwutang's nature of enriching the blood and transferring the blood by comparing the effects of Siwutang and its separated on the vascular endothelium injured rats with blood deficiency. Methods:Make models by subcutaneous injection of acetyl phenylhydrazine (APH) and put the rats into the model groups randomly, i.e., the normal group and the treatment group. There are large and small dose groups in the treatment group, which are divided into Siwutang and its separated. Observe the general situation of the experimental rats, measure the contents of hemoglobin, vascular endothelial-related factors (NO, ET, CGRP) etc., and analyse the data statistically. Results:Both Siwutang and its separated can improve the vascular endothelium injured rats with blood deficiency. Especially the Danggui-Chuanxiong can reduce the WBV, WBRV, PV and increase the index of erythrocyte deformability significantly. Shudi-Baishao inhibits CGRP of liver and lung tissues obviously. Siwutang has obvious effects on the various indicators, of which the overall effect is the best, especially on improving the imbalance of NO/ET and ET/CGRP.Conclusions:The experiment results show that Siwutang and its separated can improve the vascular endothelium injured rats with blood deficiency. The overall effect of Siwutang is the best, especially on improving the imbalance of NO/ET and ET/CGRP. It is supposed that Siwutang's nature of enriching the blood and transferring the blood might be related to vasomotor substances, which should be put on a further research.
