ObjectiveTaken the central intravenous catheter in the closed drainage operation treated the spontaneous pneumothorax patients, compared with the traditional closed thoracic cavity drainage for efficacy, safety and cost.To provide the evidence for taking central intravenous catheter for the treatment of closed drainage operation into the thoracic cavity in primary hospital.MethodsTake the 83 spontaneous pneumothorax patients who were hospitalized in LUN JIAO hospital from March of 2006 to March of 2010 divided into two groups ramdomly. The treatment group 42 cases were taken the dual-chamber central intravenous catheters in the operation of closed drainage operation into the thoracic cavity; and the control group 41 cases were taken the traditional large tube for closed drainage operation into the thoracic cavity.Compared with the the index of efficiency and complications between two groups.ResultsCompared the time, the cure rate of the two lung reexpansion, and the days hospital stay, there were no significant statistical difference between two groups(P> 0.05). But in some complications, such as Subcutaneous emphysema, secondary infection, pleural effusion, pain, and the cost, the treatment group decreased significantly than the control group(P<0.05).ConclusionsThe efficacy of central venous catheter for the closed thoracic drainage is equivalent to the conventional large tube method in the treatment of spontaneous pneumothorax. There are many advantages such as easy to operate, practicality, and fewer complications with the use of central venous catheter. |
