Purpose:By gathering relevant documents written by a couple of national famous doctors about diagnosising and treating perimenopausal syndrome, the article makes a statistical analysis against the prescription and researches the medication rule of curing perimenopausal syndrome. It will provide theory support for enhancing clinical efficacy by using traditional Chinese medicine.Method:Documents published from 1911 to 2008 with topics related to diagnosis and treat perimenopausal syndrome have been researched. And classifications have been done on all the prescriptions which are qualified for research from different perspectives, including differentiation of symptoms and signs, property and function, channel tropism, efficiency, dosage and medicine group. The data has been also processed and analyzed by MS Excel by the following approaches:1. All collected documents are classified, and then filtered by the formula of treating perimenopausal syndrome.2. Create a chart based on the statistics of the frequency of the usage of each pumice stone in those formulas.3. Analyze pumice stone in step 2 from several perspectives, including property and function, channel tropism, efficiency, medicine group and Chinese Medicine patterns, then create charts based on the statistics of early analysis, which is ready for further process.Results:The most used pumice stone for perimenopausal syndrome is qi-restoratives medicine. Among traditional Chinese drugs, sweet flavor drugs are preferred, basically, it includes the liver channel, the heart channel and kidney channel.
