Objective Detected the expression levels of microRNA-29c(miR-29c) in the sera of patients with nasopharyngeal non-keratinizing carcinoma and explored the relationship between miR-29c and the occurrence, progression, invasion and metastasis of nasopharyngeal non-keratinizing carcinoma. Methods 24 patients were contained in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) group with nasopharyngeal non-keratinizing carcinoma, and 24 healthy people were performed for the normal group. Collected sera from the tow groups, and detected the expression levels of miR-29c in the sera.Result (1) The expression levels of miR-29c in the sera of patients with nasopharyngeal non-keratinizing carcinoma were obviously lower than the expression levels of miR-29c in the sera of healthy people (P<0.05); (2) The expression levels of miR-29c in the sera of patients with nasopharyngeal non-keratinizing carcinoma who had lymph node metastasis were obviously lower than the expression levels of miR-29c in the sera of patients with nasopharyngeal non-keratinizing carcinoma who had not lymph node metastasis (P<0.05); (3)The expression levels of miR-29c in the sera of patients with nasopharyngeal non-keratinizing carcinoma whose stages were nasopharyngeal carcinoma 2008 stageâ…£were obviously lower than the expression levels of miR-29c in the sera of patients with nasopharyngeal non-keratinizing carcinoma whose stages were stageâ…¡-â…¢(P<0.05); (4) In the sera of male and femal patients with nasopharyngeal non-keratinizing carcinoma, the expression levels of miR-29c had no difference (P>0.05); (5) Among the patients with nasopharyngeal non-keratinizing carcinoma whose age were diferent, the expression levels of miR-29c in their sera had no difference(P>0.05).Conclusion The expression levels of miR-29c in the sera of patients with nasopharyngeal non-keratinizing carcinoma reduced obviously, and the expression levels of miR-29c were more lower in the sera of patients who had lymph node metastasis, and whose clinical stages were more later. It suggested that miR-29c might have relations to the occurrence, development, invasion and metastasis of nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
