Objective:For female patients with cerebral infarction by measuring serum E2, hs-CRP concentration, carotid artery color Doppler ultrasound measuring carotid artery the intima-media thickness (IMT)and observing carotid artery plaques, plaque location, shape, volume, echo characteristics of women with cerebral infarction in patients with serum E2, hs-CRP levels and carotid artery plaque related to the prevention and treatment of women with cerebral infarction and provide a reliable theoretical basis. Methods:Select from January 2008 to January 2010 in our hospital 103 cases of female patients with cerebral infarction, aged 46-79 years with a mean age of 56.76±12.68 years. One hundredand three female patients with cerebral infarction were divided into premenopausal group and postmenopausal group according to whether post-menopausal, lacunar infarction group and non-lacunar infarction group according to infarct size, progress group and stable group according to the clinical signs of progress in the evolution of infarction. The levels of the serum estradiol and High-sensitivity C-reaetive protein were detected. Carotid artery intima-media thickness was measuring and whether there are plaques and plaque location, shape, number, echo characteristics were observing by the carotid artery ultrasound.Results:Post-menopausal group, the progress group, the non-lacunar infarction group and pre-menopausal group, stable group, lacunar infarction group, the former E2 was significantly lower than the latter, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.01).The results of carotid plaques showed that 65.05%patients(67/103) had plaques. All the plaques were 197,In the postmenopausal group 170, unstable plaque 24.71% (42/170); In the pre-menopausa group27, unstable plaque 11.11% (3/27), (P<0.01).In the non-lacunar infarction group 167,unstable plaque23.35% (39/167); In the lacunar infarction group30,unstable plaque20.00%(6/30).(P>0.05); In the progress group 28, unstable plaque 42.86%(12/28), In the progress groupl69, unstable plaque 19.53(33/169), (P<0.01)Conclusion:1. Women with cerebral infarction in patients with lower serum E2 levels, hs-CRP levels higher, the more destabilizing carotid artery plaque, showed the close correlation.2. Plaque morphology observed by Carotid artery ultrasound can indirectly reflect stability and instability of the plaque.
