Clinical Characteristics And Surgical Treatment For Lumbar Intervertebral Disc Herniation In The Elderly Patients

[Objective]:To investigate the clinical character and surgical method and nursery around operation for lumbar intervertebral disc herniation in the elderly patients[Methods]:To collect clinical date of 112 cases with lumbar intervertebral disc herniation of elderly patients and retrospective analyzed these data from May,2004 to May,2009 from 208 hospital of Chinese Army. The data includ 70 males and 42 females, and we chose the age over 60 years. Among them, we application deferent operation method:the extended fenestrations of vertebral lamina, hemi-laminectomy and laminectomy. Then respectively evaluate patients's clinical chatacter and objective sign,therapeutic effect with Oswestry.[Results]:112 cases were followed up 4 months to 5years, and average period was 13-month. The result is excellent outcome achieved in 78, good 21, faire 10, poor 3. The Total Rate which was concerded better to 88%.[Conclusion]:Elderly cases with lumbar intervertbral disc herniations with the better condition of heart and lung can do with operation healing. The operation procedure of lumbar discectomy can ensure the satisfactory outcome.
