Partâ… The characteristics of peritumoral brain edema and its relationship with EEG/BEAMObjective:To provide some clinical reference values for the treatment of cerebral edema before and after operation by analyzing the characteristics of peritumoral brain edema and the relationship between EEG/BEAM and brain edema.Methods:Analyzing the relationship between the peritumoral brain edema and the size and nature of the tumor. CT or MRI and EEG/BEAM were examined in 28 patients with brain tumors before operation,on day 3 and 8 after operation.Then we studied the correlation between the change in the volume of edema and the change ofEEG/BEAM.Results:1.The correlation between the peritumoral brain edema and the nature of the brain tumor was P<0.05; while its correlation with the size of tumor was P>0.05.2.The abnormal rate and poisoning rate of EEG were 72.7%,61.6%, respectively; while BEAM,s were 88.9%,82.8%. The comparison of them had a statistics.3. Along with a decrease in the volume of the edema,the scale is higher in theθband.Conclusion:1. The peritumoral brain edema and the degree of malignancy are related, not the size of the brain tumor.2.Compared to the normal EEG, BEAM have better effect on the diagnosis of cerebral edema.3. A positive correlation between the degree of the brain tumors edema and theθwave orθpower before and after surgery. The characteristics of cerebral edema after cerebral contusion anlaceration and its relationship with EEG/BEAMObjective:To provide some clinical reference values for the treatment of cerebral edema by analyzing the characteristics of cerebral edema after cerebral contusion and the relationship between brain edema and EEG/BEAM.Methods:Analyzing the relationship between the degree of brain injury and the time of the brain edema peak.CT and EEG/BEAM were examined in 40 patients with cerebral contusion and laceration on admission,4 days and 12 days after injury.Then we studied the correlation between the change in the volume of edema and the change of EEG/BEAM.Results:1.The correlation between the degree of the cerebral contusion and laceration and the time of brain edema peak was P>0.05.2. The abnormal rate of EEG and BEAM were 55.0%,69.2%, respectively; the comparison of them had a statistics.3. Along with a decrease in the volume of the edema,the scale is higher in theθband.Conclusion:1. The time of the brain edema peak and the degree of the cerebral contusion and laceration are not related in this group.2. Compared to the normal EEG, BEAM have better effect on the diagnosis of cerebral edema after brain injury.3.
