ObjectiveTo investigate the fungus species and risk factors of deep fungal infections in hospital in recent years, improve clinicians understanding of the deep fungal infections.Methods110 cases of deep fungal infections confirmed by microbiological and pathological examinationin in First Hospital affiliated China Medical University from 1973 to 2007 were retrospectively analysed. The correlations between the deep fungal infections and age, primary disease, risk factors, treatment and outcome were discussed.ResultsAspergillosis was the most common species in the deep fungal infections (44.54%).The most common area is paranasal sinuses,followed by cerebral mater and lung. Deep fungal infections were related to the increasing use of antibacterial, corticosteroid agents,primary disease,, and elder patients.The primary disease of the deep fungal infections were pulmonary tuberculosis,diabetes mellitus, pneumnonia, bronchiectasis,lung abscess,anemia.ConclusionThe patients receiving antibacteria and hormone treatmants, elder patients, primary disease were prone to be infected with fungus. Aspergillosis was the most common species in the deep fungal infections. The most common area of deep fungal infections is paranasal sinuses, followed by cerebral mater and lung.
