Objective:To investigate the expression of CysLT2 and AQP4 in human brain gliomas and their roles.Methods:41human brain specimens were obtained from patients with gliomas. Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of CysLT2 and AQP4. MRI imaging was used to assess brain edema index(EI).Results:CysLT2 and AQP4 were expressed in the gliomas; both immunoreactivity were strong in high grade gliomas compared with low grade glioms. The expression of CysLT2 and AQP4 were positively correlated (P<0.05,r=0.987). The El of high grade gliomas was significantly higher than low grade gliomas. Conclusion:The increased expression of CysLT2 may up-regulate the expression of AQP4, and it plays an important role in the brain edema caused by gliomas.
