Objective:To evaluate and compare laparoscopic surgery in the treatment of primary aldosteronism with open adrenalectomy. Methods:The clinical data of 83 cases of adrenal aldosterone-producing adenoma (APA) confirmed by pathological diagnosis from 2004 to 2008 was retrospectively analyzed. Laparoscopic surgery was performed in 59 patients with primary aldosteronism. The clinical data was compared with those of 24 cases undergoing open surgery. The clinical data includes the average size of the tumor resection, the average operative time, intraoperative blood loss, the postoperative average hospital stay, the average hospital charges. Results:Group of 59 cases of laparoscopic cases,58 successful cases did not appear apparent complications, one case of blurred vision due to surgery switched to open surgery. No complication occurred in the laparoscopic adrenalectomy group.24 cases of open surgery group were successful, including 5 cases with complications. The average operating time of laparoscopic group was 86.09±24.32 min,and the other group was 97.71±44.77.The average bleeding volume of laparoscopic group during operation was 14.57±8.72ml,and the other group was 95.83±57.13ml.The postoperative average hospital stay of laparoscopic group was 6.76±2.12 days, and the other group was 8.79±1.87 days. The average hospital charges was 15470.04±2809.03 yuan, 12705.65±2406.53 yuan respectively. The differences between the two groups were significant.Conclusions:1. Laparoscopic adrenal surgery is better than open surgery in mean operative time, intraoperative blood loss, mean postoperative hospital stay, complication rates.2. Open adrenal surgery has some advantages in total hospital charges.3. Laparoscopic resection of adrenal benign tumor is safe and effective, and it is the preferred method of adrenal tumors...
