Purpose:To design "perceptual learning software", to shows perceptual stimulating targets with the different spatial frequencies and different stimulating characterization by the computer screen. Different types of refractory children and adults amblyopia are trained by perceptual learning for three months. The clinical results of perceptual learning for treat-ment of amblyopia are evaluated by visual acuity,P-VEP, PhNR and OCT.Methods:1. Amblyopia group:A total of 48 patients(60 eyes,5-35 years) were divided into<12 years low age group and≥12 year older age group; Normal Group:A total of 30 patients(60 eyes,5-35 years) were divided into<12 years low group and≥12 year older age group; 2. All amblyopias were trained by perceptual learning "position discrimination method" for three months.3. Visual acuity, P-VEP, PhNR and OCT were compared before and after the training of perceptual learning.4. Effective rate of perceptual learning and traditional treatment methods were compared.5. P-VEP, PhNR and OCT were compared in amblyopia group and normal group.Results:1. The amplitudes of the P100 wave in amblyopia group were lower and latencies were longer compared with normal group, amplitudes of PhNR were lower and the average RNFL thickness of optic disc from amblyopia group were thinner than those of the normal group.2.The average visual acuity of amblyopia group by perceptual learning before and training were 0.43 and 0.75 respectively, there was statistically significant difference, the total effective rate were 77%. The amplitudes of P-VEP P100 wave before training were lower and latencies were longer than that after training. There was no significant difference in PhNR and OCT between before and after training.3. The effective rate of the traditional treatment amblyopia low age group was 46.7% by the retrospective study, and that of perceptual learning was 73.3%, there was statistically significant differences between them.Conclusions:1. Perceptual learning has a good effectiveness to treat refractory children amblyopia and adults amblyopia.2. There are significant abnormalities in the transmission of visual perception, the function of retinal ganglion cells and the average RNFL thickness of optic disc in the eyes with amblyopia.3. Perceptual learning can improve transmission of visual perception of eyes with amblyopia.4. Perceptual learning cann't improve the function of retinal ganglion cells and the average RNFL thickness of optic disc of eyes with amblyopia. |
