| Objective:To assess the effects of Angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors and calcium channel blockers in preventing the progression of the diabetic nephropathy with microalbuminuria by meta-analytical techniques. Methods:We searched Medline database,Embase,Cochrane Library, randomized controlled trials (RCT) compring the role of ACEI with CCB in preventing the progression of diabetic nephropathy with microalbuminuria were included.Data were extracted by two review authors independently. The methodological quality was assessed according to Jadad score.Outcomes were evaluated including the progression to macroalbuminuria and the restoration to normalalbuminuria in the diabetic nephropathy with microalbuminuria. Results:Seven trials(480 patients) met the inclusion criteria.Meta-analysis show that both the progression to macroalbuminuria and the restoration to normal albuminuria in the diabetic nephropathy with microalbuminuria through long-term treatment of ACEI 0.30~1.03,P=0.06; Six trials, RR 1.28,95%CI 0.90-1.82, P=0.17).Conclusion:CCB equally delay the progression of incipient diabetic nephropathy with ACEI. |
