| Objective To explore the clinical manifestation,diagnosis,differential diagnosis,operation methods and curative effect after surgical treatment of Arnold-Chiari malformation with syringomyeliaMethods Retrospective analysis the clinical data of 21 cases of Arnold-Chiari malformation with syringomyelia which admitted in our hospital from January 2006 to October 2009 and confirmed by MRI.All of the patients which to adopt comprehensive surgical treatment to include decompression of posterior fossa, subpial resection of part of the cerebellar tonsils, to expand and reconstruction of posterior fossa.Results In 21 cases of Arnold-Chiari malformation with syringomyelia, Post-operative symptoms disappeared and symptoms improved significantly in 18 cases, the effective rate is 85.71%. Of which 16 patients of syringomyelia became smaller than preoperation,2 cases of syringomyelia disappeared,2 cases of syringomyelia no change,1 case a slight increased in syringomyelia.Conclusion Arnold-Chiari malformation with syringomyelia preferred surgical treatment, use of posterior fossa decompression, subpial resection of part of the cerebellar tonsils, and the posterior cranial fossa reconstruction of comprehensive surgical treatment, can be achieved good effect of surgical treatment. |
