Gold nanoparticles can absorb the infrared from the near infrared region (800-1200 nm) and caused light-heat conversion. DhHP-6 is designed by Biological Macromolecules Laboratory. Experiments show that DhHP-6 has the function of HPX which could eliminate radical. In this experiment we studied the toxicity of Gold nanoparticles on C.elegans for the first time. We got the concentration of gold nanoparticles that has no significant toxicity to C.elegans. We take the light-heat conversion mediated by Gold nanoparticles in to the heat shock experiments of C.elegans and it proves that light-heat conversion can result in heat-shock injury to C.elegans. This creates a new experimental method of heat-shock for C.elegans. Based on this method, we lead DhHP-6 into the experiment and proved that in the heat-shock conditions, DhHP-6 has protective effect on the C.elegans.
