| Informed consent (IC) is one of the most influential concept in contemporary Bioethics, we should faithfully tell patient's condition, medical diagnosis, medical treatment, alternate treatment measures, health risks, and prognosis to patients in the diagnosis and treatment of the disease process, so patients and their families have a rational, voluntary choice to the doctor's treatment program. Operation informed consent usually refers to before surgery, the doctors to inform patients of the relevant circumstances to be operative by the patients or their affiliated persons to subscribe to the medical surgical instruments. It is an important legal instrument between doctor and patient, It is also an important medical document and an important basis for proof of medical litigation .It plays a certain role in the coordination of physician-patient relationship and the maintenance of normal working order of the hospital. Informed consent is a fundamental right in the process of patient diagnosis and treatment of disease, It is also the obligations of each medical practitioners given by The People's Republic of China Medical Practitioners Act. "Medical Organization Management Regulations," Article 33: It is necessary to obtain the patient and the person's family or relationship consent in the implementation of surgery, a special examination or special treatment by Medical institutions. Informed consent signed is actually a written form to exercise the right.It will be necessary to obtain informed consent of patients and their families before surgery. Informed consent is based on an informed basis, because medicine is a highly specialized subject, the vast majority of patients lack medical knowledge, In practical work,we should let patients obtain a real and effective informed consent as much as possible. Writing signed consent is a form of expression, not simply to get a signature, in fact it is the basis of adequate communication between the doctors and patients. a variety of pros and cons of different treatment programs, as well as information regarding prognosis followed by the diagnosis and treatment programs are given by doctors , in order that patients and their families have a realistic expectation of the right course of treatment of complications. With the progress of society ,the people have greater awareness on personal health and life of medical issues, patients want to understand their illness and treatment, and to make a free choice and decisions . Only a valid informed consent, patients will take a positive attitude and actively cooperate with the doctor for treatment. Today, governments around the world, health organizations and the general public are increasingly concerned about health care level and service quality improvement . At present many of our hospitals are adopting a standard applicable to full capacity of adult operation informed consent, so that the consent process wil be more orderly, more patient-centered. However, there are many patients do not fully understand them ,they do not recognize operation informed consent is to protect the fundamental role of the patient's own interests. With the improvement of medical standards, the patient gradually increase the legal awareness. In order to achieve patient harmony, to protect health care work in both medical personnel, to lift the patient's suffering, we will analyze preoperative operation consent form signed in order to draw conclusions for the future work of medical staff to provide a correct basis.Objective: to understand the informed consent of surgical patients with the status, role, as well as the understanding of operation informed consent form, identify deficiencies to provide the necessary basis for improvement. Thereby it can reduce unnecessary medical tangle, it also let patients fully understand their condition and treatment programs.Methods: The on-site survey methods, in China First Automobile Group Corporation and the General Hospital of Jilin University First Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology hospital surgical patients in their surgery, on-site survey before discharge. Research project including the general conditions; informed consent of surgical patients with the legal status of awareness; patients with the written consent of the removal of understanding; informed consent of surgical patients with the role and value of view. EpiData3.02 software with data entry, and use SPSS13.0 statistical software for data analysis and processing, using x~2 test.Results: The survey questionnaires were issued, 604 were recovered 533 copies, The response rate was 88.25%, the number of 533 questionnaires were qualified, a pass rate of 100%. Through the investigation, most patients can understand operation informed consent,but there are a little patients has mistaken ideas on the informed consent.Analysis found that patient's age,education level,occupation and hospitalization costs are associated with the understanding of operation consent form.Conclusion: Understanding the informed consent is associated with a variety of factors. Operation informed consent about the situation of the 17 problems, "I think the signing of consent was not sure what is agreed to" and "know the steps and method of operation," the understanding in greater age is worse. The patients more education level can correctly understand informed consent of surgical patients with the legal status of awareness; patients with the written consent of the removal of understanding; informed consent of surgical patients with the role and value of view. Intellectuals (cadres, teachers, health workers) can correctly understand the significance of surgical informed consent.The higher in cost ,the more correctly in the patient's understand the issues , "If they can not sign an agreement, a close relative may be able to sign," "I think the sign the consent form was not sure what is agreed to," "the signing of consent is a waste of time", "to know the steps and method of operation "," Understanding the need for surgery " .
