Objects:1.To investigate the relationship between hair element and androgenetic alopecia, and provide reference for the treatment of this kind of disease.2.Study on the TCM Syndrome Differentiation and ultramicrostructure of hair in androgenetic alopecia, provide the objective reference parameter of the clinic Syndrome Differentiation in this disease.3.To investigate the relationship between western medicine classification(Norwood classification of male androgenetic alopecia;Ludwig's classification of female androgenetic alopecia) and ultramicrostructure of hair in androgenetic alopecia. In these clinic and scientific research,we combined the theory of traditional Chinese medicine and the examination by the sophisticated machine and elucidated the correlation between TCM Syndrome Differentiation and ultramicrostructure of hair in androgenetic alopecia.By the study on the structure and elements of the hair in androgenetic alopecia and health hair,we want to explore more about the etiopathogenesis and medical treatment of this disease, and supply information for the new drug research and development in future. Methods:Examined the element contents of the hair samples of 50 patients in androgenetic alopecia and 18 normal controls, compared them by Chinese medicine classification and Western medicine classification and also analyzed the hair samples with the electron microscope. Among these cases of androgenetic alopecia,19 hair samples were detected by infrared analysis. All the results were analyzed by SPSS 11.0 software.Results:1.In the androgenetic alopecia patients, the element contents have no significant difference between the different areas(median- anterior, median, posterior, left and right) in hairy root, and in hair shaft(P>0.05).But the sequences of the element contents in hairy root were different.By comparing the element contents in hairy root and in hair shaft of these 5 groups, the contents of Na,Mg,K,Ca,Al,S,P have the significant difference(P<0.05).By comparing the hair samples of 50 patients in in androgenetic alopecia and 18 normal controls,we found that O,Na,Mg,K,Ca,S,Cl,Zn,P have the the significant difference (P<0.05) between the anterior area of hair root and the anterior area of hair shaft, and also between the median area of hair root and the median area of hair shaft(P<0.05).2.Classified by the TCM Syndrome Differentiation in androgenetic alopecia, the content of K has the significant difference(P<0.05) among the syndrome of endoretention of damp hea,the syndrome of blood deficiency and wind dryness, and the syndrome of deficiency of liver and kidney.3.By comparing the cases of Norwood's classification of Male Pattern Baldness,we found that in Norwood gradeⅡandⅢ,there had no significant difference between the different parts in hair root, and also between the different parts in hair shaft(P>0.05). By comparing the cases of Ludwig's classification of androgenetic alopecia in women,we found that S element in the anterior part of hair root,Al element in the median part of hair shaft,O element and Cu element in left part of hair shaft have significant difference between the cases in gradeⅡandⅢ(P<0.05).4.Studied on Infrared Spectrum Analysis of 19 cases of androgenetic alopecia,we found there have no significant difference between anterior, median, side and posterior part in hair root(P>0.05),but there are some differences in the characteristic absorption band of infrared spectrum.Conclusions:1.There are some relationships between androgenetic alopecia and the change of the content of the elements in hair.2.The TCM syndrome differentiation and Typing in androgenetic alopecia have a certain relation to the elements in hair, which has certain guidance functions to the medicine typing and the clinic medical treatment.3.The change of the elements in hair may has some relations to the pathogenetic condition in androgenetic alopecia.4.There are some differences in the characteristic absorption band of infrared spectrum between the patients in androgenetic alopecia.
