Clinical Study For Intermediate And Advanced Breast Cancer Treated By Keruyan With Protocol Gemcitabine And Cisplatin

Objective:From the two aspects of theory and clinic,the study was to explore theory basis,mechanical and clinical efficacy of Keruyan with protocol GP in intermediate and advanced breast cancer patients as well as investigate improvement rate of clinical symptoms,enhancement of quality of life(QOL),relief of side and toxic effects and safety,providing new thoughts and methods for the diagnosis and treatment of intermediate and advanced breast cancer.Method:The total of 40 in-patients with intermediate and advanced breast cancer were collected,randomly divided by two groups with 20 patients respectively,i.e.treatment group and control group.Patients in treatment group were treated by Keruyan with Protocol GP,while patients in control group were only treated by protocol GP.Period of treatment was from the first day of the chemotherapy to the fourty two days of the second cycle chemotherapy.Clinical efficacy was analyzed by statistics methods through such aspects as TCM syndrome effect,Karnofsky score,quality of life score,side and toxic effects as well as tumor markers in treatment group and control group.Result:In the aspect of TCM syndrome score,clinical cure rate was 20%,significant efficacy was 50%,efficacy was 25%,inefficiency was 5%in treatment group after treatment; while 5%,35%,45%,15%respectively in control group,with significant difference between the two groups(P＜0.05).Karnofsky score averagely increased by 1.5 in treatment group after treatment,while 0.49 in control group with significant difference between two group.Quality of life score averagely decreased by 3.2 in treatment group after treatment;while 2.35 in control group,with significant difference(P＜0.05).Rate of Nausea and vomiting(degreeⅠ～Ⅳ) in treatment group after treatment was lower than that in control group,with significant difference(P＜0.05).Conclusion:The following such aspects as TCM syndrome score,Karnofsky score,quality of life score as well as nausea and vomiting in treatment group after treatment was superior to that in control group by statistics analysis with significant difference.It had proved that Keruyan indeed had the role of reliving toxicity and adding efficacy in the treatment of intermediate and advanced breast cancer.The treatment group had the trend of partial alleviation and improvement compared to control group in tumor efficacy but no significant statistical difference.The reason was maybe related with few patients and short treatment time.Other aspects as the improvement of discomfort symptoms,toxic and side effects as well as tumor markers was no significant difference in the period of chemotherapy with the same reason of tumor efficacy.Keruyan had the role of reliving toxic and side effects of chemotherapy,improving symptoms and enhancing quality of life in intermediate and advanced breast cancer through the investigation and analysis of clinical efficacy,providing new thoughts and methods of the chemotherapy of reliving toxicity and adding efficacy in intermediate and advanced breast cancer.
