| ã€Objective】Graves disease is one of the most common endocrine system diseases, and its recrrence after treatment by drug is difficult, and TGF-β1 is an important immune regulatory factor. This paper is to explore the role of serum transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1) in the recurrence of Graves disease.ã€Methods】From April 2008 to August 2008 in Qilu Hospital affiliated to Shandong University, sixty cases of Graves disease were collected. All the patients were out-patients and consistent with Graves disease diagnostic criteria: (1) clinical symptoms and signs of hyperthyroidism;(2) diffuse thyroid enlargement(palpation or ultrasoud-confirmed),a small number of cases can be no goiter;(3) lower serum TSH concentration, and thyroid hormone concentration increased.Patients were selected except for liver and kidney disease, malignant tumors and other infectious diseases, not using immunosuppressive agents. All objects were divided into three groups:20 cases of newly diagnosed of Graves(11 men,9 women, median age,35 years);20 cases of Graves disease with 3 months treatment(12 men,8 women, median age,28 years);20 cases of disease recurrence group(9 men,11 women, median age,30 years);and 20 cases of healthy controls(10 men,10 women, median age,38 years),serum TGF-β1 and TRAb were measured by ELISA,and the level of serum thyroid hormone,TPO and TGAb were measured by electrochemiluminescence.ã€Results】(1) The level of TGF-β1 in newly diagnosed group and recurrence group are significantly higer than those of healthy control group, the TGF-β1 level of treatment group with three months is significantly lower compared with that of the untreatment group, and the TGF-β1 level of recurrent group is lower than that of untreatment group's but higher than that of the treatment group with three months's.(2) The level of TPOAb in each group differences is statistically (x~2=29.87,P<0.01),the level of TGAb separately in each group has significant difference(x~2=25.55,P<0.01),and the levels of them have separately increased with the degree of goiter.ã€Conclusions】(1) TGF-β1 may have been involved in the process of Graves disease and its recurrence.(2) TPOAb levels or TGAb levels has positive correlation rate with thyroid enlargement. |
