Objective: Acetabular bone cement pressurization during total hip arthroplasty is considered difficult mainly due to the appearance and anatomical characteristics of the acetabulum. It is the main reason that the rate of postoperative acetabular aseptic loosening higher than the rate of femoral prosthesis. With modern cementing techniques improvement, con- ventional acetabular cementing technique usually enclosed the acetabu- lum first as far as possible, then compressed gradually, thus can effectively inc- reased the bone cement pressure in acetabulum, further realized high quality of bone cement penetration. In this study,to investigate the operative method and the clinical effect of acetabular bone cement pressurization for cemen- ted total hip arthroplasty that was performed with the acetabular bone cement pressurizer which was designed by ourselves. Methods: We designed the acetabular bone cement presser according to the relevant references and clinical practice.Bone cement pressurization in acetabular side were performed in 16 cases of primary cemented total hip replacement and revision with the acetabular bone cement pressurizer;postoperative hip X-ray examination were performed. Results: Sixteen patients underwent postoperative hip x-rays,all patients'Delee-Charnley zone I did not appear radiolucent lines. Conclusion: The technique of acetabular bone cement pressurization is closely related to the long-term survival of the prosthesis. With modern bone cement technology improvement, the application of acetabular bone cement pressurizer in cemented artificially total hip replacement will help cement permeate cancellous bone.
