Clinical Study On The Therapeutic Effect Of Acupuncture And Moxibusfion In Improving AECOPD Patients' Pulmonary Function

Objective: This pape, based on clinical observation, researched the therapeutic effect of a therapy, which was the combination of acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine, to cure Acute Exacerbation of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and its effect on pulmonary function.Methods: According to the Inclusion Criteria, 59 AECOPD patients in pulmonary and acupuncture disease department of XIAMEN HOSPITAI OF TCM , from February, 2008 to November, 2008, were randomly collected by the order of their receiving medical treatment and equally were divided into two groups, which were the treatment 29 and the control 30, respectively. Patients in the treatment group were treated with Xuansanfang and Wenshenliqitang. While patients, in the control group, were given Wenshenliqitang only. The two groups were treated on the basis of conventional western medicinal therapy. All patients had gone through the detection of clinical symptom and pulmonary function before their receiving a treatment and the day after treated, respectively. Then, research data were analyzed by the software of SPSS 13.0.Results:â‘ Compared with the control group, the obvious effective rate of the treatment group was P<0.05. The total clinical effects of the two group, however, was P>0.05, which showed that Xuansanfang and Wenshenliqitang with the conventional western medicine method could improve the AECOPD patient's clinical obvious effective rate. There were no significant differences between the two groups in the total clinical effects.â‘¡After the treatment, patients' pulmonary function was improved significantly in both groups with FEV₁, FEV₁% anticipations of profit and FEV₁/FVC P<0.05, which apparently indicated that Xuansanfang and Wenshenliqitang with the conventional western medicine method was preferable in improving AECOPD patients' pulmonary function.â‘¢There were no missing cases and no serious adverse reactions, which revealed it was safe and reliable to combine Xuansanfang and Wenshenliqitang with the conventional western medicine therapy.Conclusion: The therapy, combining Xuansanfang and wenshenliqitang with the conventional western medicine method, had the same therapeutic effect as the therapy of only wenshenliqitang combined with the conventional western medicine. But, the therapy of combining Xuansanfang and Wenshenliqitang with the conventional western medicine method was better than the therapy of only wenshenliqitang with the conventional western medicine in improving AECOPD patients' pulmonary function. As for this, The therapy of Xuansanfang and Wenshenliqitang had great clinical significance of treating AECOPD and would be worthy of further study.
