Objective: To reach the treatment of Dangguibuxuetang Modified artificial blood loss after total knee arthroplasty of the short-term effect of anemia and anemia in patients with knee joint function with the relationship to improve the situation. Methods: May 2007 -2008 in 12 months, suffering from knee osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, Jiangsu Province, Chinese medicine hospital in the seven wards in West Bank with unilateral total knee arthroplasty in patients with the surface of 60 cases. Parallel control design method, patients were randomly divided into two groups: the experimental group was given Dangguibuxuetang flavored, fast power control group taking the Ferroussuccinate, 30 people in each group. Preoperative treatment group taking three conventional Modified Dangguibuxuetang, after beginning the second day of medication, treatment for 7 days. The control group over the same period the use of force-speed Ferroussuccinate (ferrous succinate tablets). Preoperative and postoperative day 1, after the first three days, seven days after operation in patients with venous blood samples for routine examination, hemoglobin, platelet, hematocrit, such as a comparison target; HSS scoring system to assess the use of preoperative , after 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, 4 weeks, of the knee joint function. Results: After total knee replacement after 1~3 d for the heavier phase of anemia; test group of hemoglobin and hematocrit values measured at different time point after administration were higher than, the difference was significant (P <0. 05). Test group and control group measured at the platelet was no significant difference before and after treatment (P> 0. 05), two groups with the group before and after 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, 1 month HSS score more obvious different from the same group by repeated measure analysis of variance P <0.05, there was a significant difference. Between the two groups after 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks HSS scores compared by t test, P <0.05, there was a significant difference; one month compared HSS scores by t test, P> 0.05, the difference was not significant difference. Conclusion: Total Knee Replacement Patient perioperative use at Dangguibuxuetang Modified effective prevention and treatment of patients with anemia status, and is conducive to the knee joint in patients with recent functional recovery, but long-term improvement in knee function had no significant effect.
