Clinical Study Of Application In Acupoint Of Yongquan(KI1) With Wuzhuyu And Rougui To Treat Children's Pharyngitis Herpetica

Objective:Observe the co-effect of application in acupoint of Yongquan(KI 1) with Wuzhuyu and Rougui to treat children's pharyngitis herpetica.Design and method:Children with pharyngitis herpetica meeting the diagnostic criteria are divided randomly into two groups,each with 20 cases.In control group,patients are treated with conventional methods as intravenous administration of 10%glucose solution and Potassium Sodium Dehydroandroan Drographolide Succinate,and fluid replacement and pyretolysis are implemented if necessary.In therapy group,in addition to the treatment of control group, Wuzhuyu and Rougui granule mixed with vinegar is applied on Yongquan(KI 1) of both feet before sleep.The therapeutic effect of both groups are evaluated after a duration of treatment, and the clinical symptoms before and after treatment and other relative factors associated with the effect are observed.Results:Among 40 patients with children's pharyngitis herpetica,there is no evident difference in morbidity between two genders.The symptoms are all relieved after treatment. After five days' management,patients' symptoms as sore throat,apastia,salivation,cough,thirst and constipation is better alleviated in therapy group than that of control group,with total efficacy of 95%in therapy group and 75%in control group.There is significant difference in effect between the two groups(P＜0.05).Conclusion:Children's pharyngitis herpetica is a common disease in Pediatrics,which especially most often seen in infantile.It's caused by Coxsackie Virus and manifest mainly with sore throat,apastia and salivation.Conventional therapy with only western medicine and application in accupoint of Yongquan(KI 1) with Wuzhuyu and Rougui combined with western medicine are both effective in treating this disease,while the latter has a more evident efficacy in relieving symptoms and shortening disease course.This study is beneficial for promotion of application in acupoint of Yongquan(KI 1) with Wuzhuyu and Rougui to treat children's pharyngitis herpetica,which provides a source for further exploration of treating children's pharyngitis herpetica and application and extension of acupoint application.
