| Objective To investigate the tendency and feature of craniofacial growth and development of juvenil and children with normal occlusion in the foundation of staging by skeletal age in Shandong, and make the facial model of juvenil and children with normal occlusion, for providing the theory basis and evaluation criterion to clinical orthodontics, orthognathic surgery and scientific research.Methods 212 juvenil and children at the age of 8-16(male 107,famale 105) selected from middle school and primary school in Shandong were took lateral cephalograh, dividing them into groups by cervical vetebrae skeletal age.Then measured the amplitude of cervical vetebrae skeletal age of everybody and measured items of analytical method of Ricketts and McNamara with WinCeph7.0, made statistics and variance analysis among gender and every group of cervical vetebrae skeletal age by SAS9.1.3, established the facial model of juvenil and children with normal occlusion by WinCeph7.0 eventually.Results 1)Divided the research objecets into groups with cervical vetebrae skeletal age,and got the range of the skeletal age value correspond to every skeletal age group. 2)Got the normal value and standard deviation of measuring items of Ricketts and McNamara analytical method in different gender and every skeletal age group. 3)Discrepancy between male and famale and difference among skeletal age groups were found in the process of growth and development of juvenil and children with normal occlusion in Shandong. 4)Established the facial model of juvenil and children with normal occlusion.Conclusions Maxillofacial region of juvenil and children have the growth form of forward and deorse, following the increase of bone age, maxillary bone trends to be forward to increace its length, mandibula trends to be forward and deorse, and also revolves anticlockwise. Maxillary basal bone grows forward most rapidly in accelerated phase of bone age both in male and famale. There is most obvious growth tendency of mandibula forward revolve in accelerated phase in famale and in retardation phase in male. And mandibula shows the most obvious tendency of deorse growth in maturation phase in both gender. Compared to famale, mandibula shows larger tendency of forward and deorse in accelerated phase, deceleration phase, maturation phase in male. |
