Objective To evaluate the effect of artificial vertebral body of the biomimetic n-HA/PA66 composites in the anterior cervical fusion for cervical spondylosis .Methods From February of 2005 to March of 2008,52 cases of cervical spondylos is were treated by anterior semivertebra decompression,intervertebral fusion with artificial vertebral body of the biomimetic n-HA/PA66 composites,fixation with titanium plate. 52 cases were follow-up:Nerve functional restoration ,D numerieal value ,intervertebral heightsraised ,local reactions ,immune reaction ,blood routine test,Liver and renal function and intervertebral fusion were observe.Results All patients were followed up for 12 ~ 25 months, an average of 15.5 months. JOA were inereased from PreoPerative 10.0士1.4 scores to PostoPerative 14.6士1.9 seores,late follow up seores of JOA were 14.7士2.2 seores,No recurrence. the curvature of cervieal spine With D numerical value raised from PreoPerative 4.8士0.6mm to postoperative 10.1士0.7mm .D numerical value of late follow up were 10.0士0.6mm,No obvious loss.intervertebral heightsraised from PreoPerative 34.0±1.4mm to postoperative 36.0±1.4mm. The value of late follow up were 35.8±1.3mm,No obvious loss . Fusion of all cases were Fusion ,local non-induration,swelling and other clinical symptoms . CD3, CD4, CD8, lgG, lgM preoperative, postoperative, and at the end of follow-up both times were normal .blood routine test,Liver and renal function were normal. it can obtain a satisfactory clinical results.Conclusion Artificial vertebral body of the biomimetic n-HA/PA66 composites can avoid the complications caused by grafting a massive iliac crest.it can recover cervical vertebra curvature and intervertebral heights . It has high fusion rate of bone graft and a good biocompatibility. At the same time, it can supply enough intension for the whole progress of bone graft fusion, strengthen the stability of titanium plate and provent the subsidence of the cage.So it can obtain Satisfactory clinical efficacy .
