Objective: To reveal the present situation of early detection and treatment through analyzing the results of cervical cancer screening, and to investigate the awareness of cervical cancer and the willingness of payment in screening population. Those can provide references for further cervical cancer prevention. Methods: To carried out a cervical cancer screening and to obtained information of each participant through a well designed questionnaire in a screening population who were selected using the cluster sampling method. Women aged 30-59 with no history of hysterectomy and other contraindi- cation were selected to attend the screening project in three experimental units ( Xiangyuan of Jiangxi Province, Jing'an of Jiangxi Province, Shenzhen) which with high incidence rate. Shenzhen used the liquid-based cytology, HPV-DNA examination and the traditional Pakistan smear, while Xiangyuan and Jing'an used the visual inspection (VIA/VILI) as initially screening method. Those women who were diagnosed to be CINII or higher were carried out the corresponding treatment. All the results were input twice by different trained technician with Visual FoxPro software. To analyze the data and calculating the Participation rate, the detection rate and so on use SPSS13.0 software. Results: Respectively, totally 1462, 5610 and 5266 people were screened in Shenzhen, Xiangyuan and Jing'an, while each has 1462, 5213 and 4016 people completed the questionnaire survey. Above 90% people of Shanxi and Jiangxi completed junior high school or below, but the education level of Shenzhen is relatively higher that 65.94% people were passed through the junior middle school and the high school. The detection rates are 2.12%, 1.50% and 0.36% in Shenzhen, Shanxi and Jiangxi, respectively. Meanwhile, the rate of early diagnosis more than 90% that was higher than local hospital at the same time, and the rate of early treatment were all above 75% by carry on the treatment to CINII and the above cases, in Jiangxi it reached 100%. Analyzing the data of CINII and the above in different age groups, it discovered that the detection rate of 45~49 age group was the highest in Shenzhen, the next were 30~34 and 40~44 age group; in Xiangyuan, 50~54 age group was the highest, the next were 45~49 and 35~39 age group; in Jing'an, the detection rate of 30~34 and 55~59 age groups were higher. Besides Xiangyuan, the perception rate of screening aim and cervical cancer are more than 70%, and it was increased along with the increasing of education level (P<0.05). The reason for participate in the screening was mainly attending of their own in Shenzhen, while in Shanxi and Jiangxi was organized by government. In three areas, more than 80% of people has awareness for the necessary of screening and payment, but the competence of payment are low, and the main reasons of unwilling to pay the expense are the high fare and the difficulty of economy. Conclusions:â‘ A well performed screening project can improve the early diagnosis rate and cured rate.â‘¡Different area has different age group of high incidence rate.â‘¢Education is the most important reason for the awareness of cervical cancer and screening aim.â‘£There is a high perception rate for the necessary of screening and payment, but the willingness of payment is low, the present payment cannot satisfy the demand of screening.
