The article is aimed to analyze quos of current pharmaceutical service and main problems in the work of pharmacists with clues about elder people's family use of drugs as well as problems lying in the recovery from diseases. According to the questionnaire and community survey, safe usage of drugs for dwellers and risks of drug use are studied. Therefore, the universality of community drug use is known. With further study of hospitals, pharmaceutical companies and pharmacies, the quo and default the related expertise are understood. It points out that good pharmaceutical service cannot be provided for the dwellers. Community pharmaceutical service is plays important roles in the guaranties of safe usage of drugs for dwellers as well as job promotion. It also estimates the future of community pharmacists as a new job.In addition, the methods and steps of new job development are studied, according to the related requirements of Shanghai Labor Bureau. Tasks of different stages are shown.The author investigates functions and requirements for the community pharmacist. To meet the need for the new profession, the job training and well-organized job appraisal are also explored.To cope with the default of the current pharmacist's work, the function of community pharmacist can be divided as follows with specifications: patient service, guide for drug use and health recovery, warehousing and maintenance of drugs, work morality and medical guidance.According to the grade of job qualifications, community pharmacist is graded as preliminary, vantage and advantage (III, IV, V). Syllabus and training plans are sketched in accordance with difficulties ranges from low to high. Requirements for the establishment of the training agency are also made. With further understanding of the training methods and contents, the syllabus and teaching plan for community pharmacist training are made for future theory study.The requirements for the organization of job training and appraisal are also recommended. So are the quantities and qualities of their faculties and facilities. To meet the need for three grades, the methods and process of appraisal are designed; course books and database of test questions are suggested and training cost is also evaluated to develop a good team of community pharmacists in the future. Eventually the new profession can be emerged.Through thorough study of the character of the new job and its requirements, the approach for develop a new job is suggested. It also argues that the job training and appraisal must be socialized and humanist oriented so as to realize people's constant development.
