A total of 26 clones belonging to 4 species Gentiana from Changbai mountain were selected and used for morphological and AFLP analysis.There were several parts of results as these as follows:1.The AFLP technique was employed to analyze these 26 clones belonging to 4 species Gentiana.The bands belong 26 samples,were scored,cluster analysis showed,the 26 samples belonging to 4 genus Gentiana from Changbai mountain were divided into four major species, Gentiana algida PallGentiana triflora Pall,Gentiana jamesii Hemsl,and Gentiana uchiyamai Nakai,respectively.Cluster analysis based on the AFLP data categorized the 4 species Gentiana into 2 groups that are in line with their phenotypes and population origins.2.Construction of DNA fingerprints for four species Gentiana Based on the reliable AFLP polymorphic bands,the DNA fingerprint was constructed to identify all the 4 Gentiana species,widely existed in changbai mountain regions of Northeast China.In this DNA fingerprint,each genotype has its unique finger pattern and can be easily distinguished from each other.DNA fingerprinting analysis provides a good method for species identification and can overcome the limitations associated with morphological and origin data.
