Purpose:Systematically evaluating the effectiveness and safety of acupuncture on pregnancy outcome when used as an adjuvant treatment to embryo transfer in women undergoing in vitro fertilization. In hope of provide the basis for further study and lay the foundation.Method:A comprehensive search at home and abroad due to acupuncture treatment in embryo transfer clinical study of literature,Assess the methodological quality(including randomly, blind, allocation concealment and loss to follow-up) of included studies,Use of evidence-based medicine(EBM) approach, with Revman5.0 software for statistical analysis or descriptive analysis.Results:10 randomized controlled trials with a total of 2046 participants met inclusion criteria were included in the meta-analysis.Trials with sham acupuncture and no adjuvant treatment as control were pooled for the analysis. The results showed that embryo transfer with acupuncture was associated with significant and clinically relevant improvements in clinical pregnancy(relative risk 1.34,95%confidence interval 1.09 to 1.66),and the pooled relative risk for clinical pregnancy more accurately represents the true combined effect from these trials rather than the relative risk for ongoing pregnancy and live birth. Conclusion:Acupuncture given with embryo transfer improves rates of clinical pregnancy among women undergoing in vitro fertilization. And also gives a positive effect on the ongoing pregnancy rate and live birth, but not significant. As a systematic review, the publication bias and the internal limitations in the included trials might have potentially affect the final result. So more well-designed large sample and multi-center randomized controlled trials is in urgent needed to draw firm conclusions in further research. |
