[Abstract]Objective To compare the fracture resistance and fracture modes of teeth restored with four diferent post-and-core systems.[Methods]After root canal therapy of 32 extracted maxillary central incisors was performed,the crowns of these teeth were amputated,then all these teeth were restored with two kind of fiber post-core-crown systems and metal post-core-crown system.All the teeth were mounted in resin blocks.Loads were applied on the samples at 130 degrees and measured with Instron universal testing machine(AGS-I OKNG).Results were analyzed statistically with SPSS statistical software.[Results]Four diferent post-core-crown systems carry through dynam Test.The result as the follow:A group 41.25±1.24;B group 42.78±3.90; C group 39.45±1.33;D group 37.45±2.75.Research the four different group' s fracturing pattern.A group rebuild case reach up 25 percent; B group rebuild case reach up 14 percent;C group reach up 87 percent And D group is 75 percent.So we can find that four diferent post-core-crown systems can match the clinical demands.However,the fracture pattern of metal post-core system is significantly diferent from that of the two fiber post-core systems.Fiber post has a optimize fracture pattern than metal post-core system.[Conclusions]Maxillary central incisors was prepared as residual roots model,the materials which has the similar physical properties and capabilities as that of the alveolar bone and periodontal membrane respectively were chosen.The materials and post crown restored maxillary anterior root make up of our measure and test system.This test closely combined the materials and methods used in clinic.Comparing the influence of variety post core materials and restoration methods on the resistance of anterior residual root,in order to find a better post crown restoration method to improve the resistance of the residual root and protect it better.The result demonstrated:It is better to choose fiber-reinforced composite post and composite resin core when the anterior residual root is restored.This method can protect the residual root better and avoid fracturing again.Besed on the result:1.Metal post-core system can supported more than fiber post_core systerm.2.The fiber post-system is better for root fracture resistance and avoid root fracture.It's fracture resistance capability excessed natural chew(3-30kg)which can mach the suffrer's need.3.Fiber post-core system fracture aways happed in fibier itself or 1/3 neck root.This is good for rebuild.Metal post-coresystem fracture away happed in the end of the root.So its hard to rebuild if the root failured.The result hint us fiber post-core system may better for residuai root.
